We are fully committed to provide the less fortunate women, teenagers, and nonbinary individuals of Hawai'i with menstrual hygiene care packages. This organization was started amid the pandemic with the soul purpose of helping those who underwent recent financial restraints or continue to face this persisting struggle. People should not have to choose between food and warmth or taking proper care of their themselves during their menstrual cycle. We will continue to fight against this overlooked issue of Period Poverty for the state of Hawai'i.

Aloha! Just a little about me, I am currently attending the University of San Francisco studying as a Biology Major. I also attended Maryknoll Grade School and Highschool on Oahu. As a female, I hold this issue of period poverty very close to my heart. Throughout my life, I have been extremely fortunate to have easy access to feminine hygiene products, so much so, that it didn't occur to me how many individuals in my community struggle to afford a single box of hygiene products. Recently, my perspective had been widened and I realize now it is truly a privilege to have access to these products, when it should be a right. People should not have to chose between necessities or cleanliness during their period. Hawai'i is the place I call home, and all I want to do is give back to the community who has shaped who I am today.

Hello! I am a Nursing major and theatre minor at the University of San Francisco. Back on Oahu, I attended McKinley Highschool. Access to quality healthcare is one out of the many reasons I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. Period poverty interested me the most, especially since my mother who was raised in a third world country didn’t have the access to things such as feminine hygiene products. I believe that not having the proper necessities to care for menstruation would in return lead to detrimental effects in not only women’s health, but their dignity. With this project constantly growing, I urge everyone to do their part in giving back to the community. I hope to inspire the people all around me to make this world a better place so future generations would be able to follow.
